  • Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Bruhl star as legendary Formula One drivers James Hunt and Niki Lauda respectively in this biographical drama set during the 1970's, at the peak of their heated rivalry. Both on the track and off, Hunt (Hensworth) and Lauda (Bruhl) couldn't have been more different. Yet as much as Englishman Hunt's showy public persona clashed with Lauda's reputation for tightly-controlled perfectionism, both men remained bound together by one undeniable fact - they were both among the best drivers ever to grace the racetrack. When a horrific crash during the 1976 Grand Prix at the Nurburgring nearly claims Lauda's life, however, a grudging respect begins to develop between the two racers as Hunt realizes just how devoted his greatest adversary is to the sport they both love. • After Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, Katherine Heigl continues her reign as queen of the romantic comedies with this film from director Robert Luketic (Legally Blonde, 21). Katherine Heigl is Abby, a TV producer in Sacramento, California. Gerard Butler (300, Rock N Rolla) is Mike Chadway, a local anchorman who hosts 'The Ugly Truth', a sassy show about relationships. After the umpteenth failed date, Abby finds herself disillusioned and upset in front of the telly, watching, bizarrely enough, Mikes programme. Outraged by the man's cynicism, she calls into the studio and starts arguing with him on-air only to find out, the day after, that her network intends to hire Mike to revitalize Abby's show's meagre shares.

The two have many difficulties getting along, but eventually end up calling a truce when Abby meets her handsome new neighbour Colin. Mike offers to help her 'conquer' him, promising that, if his plan fails, he will leave the show. Quite surprisingly everything seems to be going by the book, but is Abby being truthful to herself or is she just acting a part? And will Mike be able to fight back his growing feelings for the beautiful but demanding producer?

  • After a solid track record and a much-deserved promotion, Andrew Beckett (Tom Hanks), a handsome, upwardly mobile Philadelphia lawyer, loses his high-paying corporate job when he starts developing full-blown AIDS. Though Andrew's firm attributes his dismissal to his supposedly poor performance, he knows otherwise, and he won't accept the firm's discrimination lying down. Andrew will do whatever is necessary to prosecute. But when nine other lawyers refuse to help him, Andrew reluctantly hires Joe Miller (Denzel Washington), a showy, homophobic, ambulance-chasing lawyer whose first reaction to the news that Andrew has AIDS is to rush to the doctor and have himself checked. Despite Joe's fear and dislike of gays, he and Andrew discover they've got quite a bit in common, and they decide they're going to fight to the finish. The result is an emotionally potent drama that doesn't flinch from exposing the long-term effects of the disease on Beckett and his friends and family. Jonathan Demme directs and Bruce Springstein sings the title song, 'Streets of Philadelphia,' part of an Academy Award-winning score. Contains 1 disc. Cert 12.

  • Award-winning historical slave-narrative drama directed by Steve McQueen and starring Chiwetel Ejiofor. The film follows the experience of Solomon Northup (Ejiofor), an African-American living with a wife and two children in Saratoga, New York, who is kidnapped and sold into slavery by men claiming to offer him work as a circus musician.

Transported by ship to New Orleans, it isn't long before he is given a new name and sold to William Ford (Benedict Cumberbatch), a relatively empathetic slave owner. But confrontations with the cruel and violent overseer John Tibeats (Paul Dano) lead to Solomon being passed on by Ford to the extremely abusive and alcoholic planter Edwin Epps (Michael Fassbender), who rules his slaves with a whip in one hand and a Bible in the other.

Believing the only hope of regaining his freedom is to remain passive for the time being, Solomon ceases fighting against the illegitimacy of his situation until salvation is offered to him by a kindly labourer named Bass (Brad Pitt).

Nominated for nine Academy Awards, including Best Picture, Best Actor (Ejiofor), Best Supporting Actor (Fassbender) and Best Director (McQueen), and won the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture - Drama and BAFTA's for Best Leading Actor (Ejiofor) and Best Film.
